St. Baldrick's Foundation is BRHLL's give-back charity. St. Baldrick's is a volunteer and donor powered charity committed to supporting promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. BRHLL's personal connection to this amazing foundation gives us a special reason to make this charity a priority for our league, emphasizing to our kids how important it is to focus on a good cause.
Jack Klein was a 10-year-old boy who loved BRHLL and was loved by all who knew him. Jack passed away in 2016 after a 10-month fight with Burkitt Lymphoma, and our community comes together to honor him and all casualties of childhood cancer. Unfortunately, Jack was the one in five children diagnosed with cancer that don't survive. St. Baldrick's is devoted to changing that statistic and to improving the quality of life of childhood cancer survivors and the often brutal toll the treatments can take in the long-term. All funds raised will go to St. Baldrick's in the everlasting hope that they can spur research to save children from this awful disease.
We are out to exceed the $142,295 we raised in 2022 and get Mayor Hogsett to shave his head again for Jack, for pediatric cancer research, and for all kids and families affected by childhood cancers!2024 Shave or Braid Event will be held on Saturday, June 1st!
